Fashion Trends That'll Be Everywhere This Spring

It might feel unusual to think about spring fashion trends now, but — as we learned last year — fantasizing about next season’s wardrobe is the perfect way to escape the relentless “new year new me” noise…for us Luckily, the fashion industry is always one step ahead, staging the Spring/Summer 2023 fashion shows in September 2022 and predicting our wardrobes for the new season before we even think about it.

So what is there to look forward to in Spring/Summer 2023?

2022's obsession with fuchsia gives way to softer pinks, while black and cobalt blue will be surprised standouts this season. Drop waists and sheer fabrics will be on trend for those looking for a little sexiness, while spring's "groundbreaking" florals get a punchy three-dimensional upgrade.

Scroll down to get a sneak peek at the trends that will dominate our wardrobes this spring.

SHEER JOY

Sheer fabrics are all the rage for several seasons, especially Spring/Summer 2023. From mesh overlays that add drama to simple evening dresses, to sexier lingerie pieces, this is a super sexy way to layer if you want to forego the more traditional route of tiny skirts and deep V-neck designs. You can find a sultry sensuality in the look.

SEQUINS World

While sequin season might traditionally fall in December to coincide with the seemingly endless holiday parties, 2023 is breaking the rulebook, declaring spring and summer the perfect time to show off and glamour. Crucially, in the Spring/Summer 2023 collections, the trend punctuates a softer, lighter palette, with baby pinks, nudes, and pastels set to be the most prolific.

BOUDOIR DETAILING

Maybe not for trying on at the office, SS23 looks set to be a very sexy season, with boudoir details at the forefront of eveningwear. Whether you're wearing a flirty petticoat with a bit of lace detailing, or going straight for a head-to-toe look, keep your toes entertained with high-top stockings and lace gloves.

HEART MOTIFS

While the season may kick off at the end of March, February 14th is one of the most compelling trends for Spring/Summer 2023. In September, hearts appeared on endless runways, from hips to legs, busts to skirts. Embellished dresses, in particular, make the perfect date night look for those willing to wear their hearts on their sleeves (or anywhere else!).

FLOWER POWER

She may have slandered them back in 2006, but even Miranda Priestly would have found the flowers "groundbreaking." More dramatic than the usual spring florals, next season's classic trend takes on a more dimensional role, emerging from shirts, and shoulders, and even taking over your torso. Sure, the latter might be overkill for a quiet dinner with friends, but those who aren't afraid of striking fashion moments can't go too far wrong.

FULL-ON FRINGING

Tassels, of course, are nothing new, but a familiar design accent is coming to life next season. And we mean very large. From fringed "cuffs" that start at the elbow to fully fringed dresses, fringed clutches, and hey, why not *actual* fringe... whatever it is, if it's fringe, next season, we're all in for it.

CANDYFLOSS PINK

Fuchsia is undoubtedly the color of 2022, but for Spring/Summer 2023, the hue took a backseat as strong blue tones took center stage. Cobalt blue has been at the forefront of fashion trends for a while now, and its return is welcome. Everything from dresses to jackets, skirts, and even boots, before we inevitably overindulge and return to our neutral wardrobes again.

COBALT BLUE

SUNSET OMBRÉ

One particular, romantic color trend dominated the Spring/Summer runways—soft sunset ombrés that were surprisingly popular. Seeing red colliding with orange, yellow, and white was the perfect warm antidote to the September storms outside the shows, bringing optimism into the new season. You won't regret your investment if you find a piece with this shade of sunset.
